Township Manager

Executive Assistant

Welcome to Roxbury! The
Township of Roxbury is made up of six communities including Kenvil, Landing,
Ledgewood, Berkshire Valley, Port Morris and Succasunna. It covers an
area of approximately 22 square miles with a population of 23,227 according to
the 2000 Census. It is located at the crossroads of Routes 46, 10 and 80,
just 50 miles west of New York City. It is a residential community
offering a wide variety of amenities.
Within our boundaries is the
Horseshoe Lake Recreational Area that includes a swimming area, picnic areas
and pavilion, band shell, playground, sports fields for soccer and baseball,
basketball and volleyball courts, walking path and soon to be added bikeway and
mini railroad operated by the Roxbury Railroaders Club. That is just the
list of outside activities! The adjoining building houses the very active
Senior and Teen Centers.
The preservation of Open Space has
contributed in large part to the pastoral appearance of our Township.
More than 25% of our community is designated public and quasi-public use with
an additional 21% farm and vacant land. We boast 13 parks that are
beautifully maintained by our Parks and Recreation Department.
Yet due to the excellent
transportation system, Roxbury is host to a thriving business community.
Restaurants and businesses flourish at our crossroads. The Township is a
hub of activity because of our convenient location.
The Township operates under the
Manager--Council form of Government. The Manager is responsible for the
day-to-day operations associated with all municipal activities. The
Manager directs, administers and coordinates the activities of the municipality
in full support of policies, goals and objectives established by the governing
body.
The overriding goal of our manager
is to ensure you, our customers, receive the most efficient and cost effective
service. Lastly, we would like to invite all residents to get involved in
our community.
