Fall 2015 Programs and Activities:

Cross Country
Join the program to 'Go The Distance' and have fun while running. Must be 7 years old by December 31, 2015, or have been on the XC team last year.  Birth year must be 2008 or earlier.  First practice is Monday, August 31st, 6pm, at the Horseshoe Lake Pavilion. Program runs through mid November .Please register online or in-person at Roxbury Recreation. Fee: $45; includes t-shirt. More info on flyer .

Olde Suckasunny Day
On Saturday, September 12, 2015, come spend the day at an old-fashioned street fair complete with entertainment, food vendors, games and more!  Over 75 vendors will be there, including crafters and non-profits, plus a book sale at the library.  Hours are 10am-3pm on Main Street in Succasunna. Parking is available at St. Therese Church, Lincoln-Roosevelt School and Franklin School. 

9/11 Day of Service
This annual community-wide event is planned for Saturday, September 19th, 2015.  Volunteer to give back to your community. Registration begins at 8am at the Roxbury Public Works Building, 96 North Dell Avenue, Kenvil. More info on flyer and at

Roxbury Garage Sale at Horseshoe Lake
Saturday, September 26th, 9am to 4pm at Horseshoe Lake Park. Admission is free, and event is rain or shine. Homeowners are invited to purchase a 12'x12' space for $25 each. Food vendors will be available on site. For more information and registration, please view flyer at Garage Sale.

Roxbury Ice Hockey
Registration for the 2015-16 season is now open for boys and girls ages 
6 to 16. Register by sending an email to , and a registration packet will be sent to you. More info on flyer.

Roxbury Soccer
Online registration is available for soccer programs from Pre-K through 8th grade. Register online at  Mini Mite (4 yr olds) and Mighty Mite ( Fall Kindergarteners) registration is open until September 6th. Programs begin in September.  Please direct questions to ; more info on flyer

Girls Volleyball
This program is for girls going into 5th-8th grade, and is designed to introduce girls to the sport of volleyball. Volleyball will be held twice per week on Mondays, Tuesdays, and/or Thursdays, 5:45pm and 9pm in the Lincoln Roosevelt Gym, Horseshoe Lake Gym, or the Eisenhower School Gym. Each session will be one hour long. Program begins mid-September and runs through mid-November. Volunteers are needed for coaches! Please register online through Community Pass or in-person at the Recreation Office. Fee is $65, includes t-shirt.

Women's Volleyball
Registration is currently open for one more team for this fun fall season. Teams must be made up of women ages 19 and over. Games are played on Wednesday evenings at Eisenhower Middle School Gym, starting September 9th. Season goes for ten weeks, ending in December. Hours of play are between 7pm-9pm. Minimum of six per team; registration is $165 per team. Please contact Lisa at

Gymnastics Inc.
Roxbury Recreation is sponsoring classes! Four levels are offered: Mommy-N-Me for ages 2-3 1/2 , Gymnastics Class for ages 3-5, Gymnastics Class for ages 6+, and Back Handspring Class for ages 8+. Roxbury Recreation’s classes are September 14th-October 23rd for a total of six weeks. Fee: $115. Please register by calling 973-252-4300; more info on flyer.

Gym Ninja for Boys
This program is specifically designed to be packed with activities and fun for boys between the age of 7 and 12.  We combine skills and drills from parkour, martial arts, acrobatics, and general strength and conditioning.  It is a great foundation for the development of coordination and strength as well as tons of fun! Tuesday classes begin on September 15th for six weeks, 7pm-8pm. Register at Gymnastics Inc. by calling 973-252-4300. Classes will take place at 80 North Dell Avenue, Unit 17, Kenvil. Fee: $115.

Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run® is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. This running program is coming to Roxbury in mid-September for girls in 3rd-5th grade. Days will be Tuesdays and Fridays, 4:15pm-5:30pm; program is 11 weeks long. Geocaching 101 Class
Discover the fun of geocaching on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 10am! Geocaching is an adventurous activity like a modern day scavenger hunt which ties technology and nature together and is enjoyable for any age. Geocaching 101 will show how to research and locate geocaches, and then try your hand at hunting for hidden caches in Roxbury Township. Lake Hopatcong Foundation's Lake Loop 2015
On Sunday, October 11, 2015, enjoy the breathtaking views of Lake Hopatcong on a scenic bike ride, trail run, or paddling to raise funds for NJ's largest lake! Pick your challenge - cycling 20, 40 or 62 miles, trail run 1 mile or 5k, paddle 1 mile or 2.5 miles. Please click on Lake Loop for flyer, or visit for information and registration.

Home for the Holiday
Planning is underway for a festive winter celebration in Roxbury! Saturday, December 5, 2015, 11am-5pm, on Main Street in Succasunna. Mark your calendar for a day of music, food trucks, crafts, and all day entertainment. Santa will be visiting, and the tree lighting will be part of the festivities. Please visit for more information as the date gets closer!
