Movie Night at Horseshoe Lake
Join the fun and free movies at Horseshoe Lake this summer!  Movies start at dusk, which is around 8:30pm, weather permitting. Check back here on movie night if weather is iffy!

Ice Cream Social & Walk-A-Thon
On Thursday, August 13th, a fundraiser is planned for the Weickert Family, who experienced a devastating fire in their home. Register early for a 6:30pm walk around Horseshoe Lake, and enjoy ice cream after! If you cannot attend but would like to donate, please view flyer.

Summer 2015 Camps:

Ice Hockey Summer Ice Training
Roxbury Youth Ice Hockey is offering 7 weeks of on-ice training for new and existing players, designed to teach and improve skating and hockey skills. Sessions will be held on Fridays, and begin on July 17th, 7:30pm-8:45pm. All sessions are held at Aspen Ice in Randolph. More info on flyer

Lego Camp
Lego-inspired engineering classes for kids in K-6th grade. Camp week is August 17-21 at the Horseshoe Lake Recreation Teen Center. Pre-Engineering Camp is for K-2nd grade, 9am-12pm. FUNdamentals of Engineering Camp is for 3rd-6th grade, 1pm-4pm. Fee: $145; register at More info on flyer.

Tennis Camp
Coach Miller is offering his 2nd annual summer camp during the month of July in weekly sessions. Camps range in ages from 5-8 and 9-11, plus Middle and High School Camps. Please visit for more info and to register.

Tennis Lessons
Lessons are offered for kids, beginners and advanced students, ages 8-16. Lessons begin on June 23rd and are offered one week only; register now! Please visit for more information and schedule.

Pony Camp-August
A half-day pony camp is offered for children age 9 and up. Daily riding time includes a riding lesson, lunging session, Equisthenics lesson, a harness driving session or a mini trail ride. Other non-riding activities are also included. Dates are Monday, August 3rd through Thursday, August 6th, 1pm-4:30pm, at Horseshoe Lake. More info on registration form. Fee: $290.

Fall 2015 Programs and Activities:

NFL Instructional Flag Football Clinic
This program is for children ages 5 through 1st grade as of December 1st, 2015. It includes learning the fundamentals of flag football. No experience necessary. The program will be held Monday and Wednesday evenings beginning August 24th at the Horseshoe Lake Fields, 6pm-7:15pm. Coaches needed too! Please register online or in-person at Roxbury Recreation. Fee: $50, includes NFL Jersey.

Jr. Gaels Football 
Football practice will begin on August 3rd, and will be held Mondays-Thursdays throughout August. Games will begin in September, and run through early November. For programs, please see below for eligibility as of the September 2015 school year:
      Pre-Clinic -             boys entering 3rd grade (must be age 8 by Oct. 1st)
      Clinic -                   boys entering 4th grade
      Super Pee Wee -    boys entering 5th grade
      Pee Wee -             boys entering 6th grade
      J.V. -                     boys entering 7th grade
      Varsity -                 boys entering 8th grade

Roxbury Ice Hockey
Registration for the 2015-16 season is now open for boys and girls ages

Roxbury Soccer
Online registration is available for soccer programs from Pre-K through 8th grade. Register online at www.roxburysoccer.comMini Mite (4 yr olds) and Mighty Mite ( Fall Kindergarteners) registration is open until September 6th. Cross Country

Join the program to 'Go The Distance' and have fun while running. Must be 7 years old by December 31, 2015, or have been on the XC team last year.  Birth year must be 2008 or earlier.  First practice is Monday, August 31st, 6pm, at the Horseshoe Lake Pavilion. Gymnastics Inc.
Roxbury Recreation is sponsoring classes! Four levels are offered: Mommy-N-Me for ages 2-3 1/2 , Gymnastics Class for ages 3-5, Gymnastics Class for ages 6+, and Back Handspring Class for ages 8+. Roxbury Recreation’s classes are September 14th-October 23rd for a total of six weeks. Fee: $115. Please register by calling 973-252-4300; more info on flyer.

Gym Ninja for Boys
This program is specifically designed to be packed with activities and fun for boys between the age of 7 and 12.  We combine skills and drills from parkour, martial arts, acrobatics, and general strength and conditioning.  It is a great foundation for the development of coordination and strength as well as tons of fun! Tuesday classes begin on September 15th for six weeks, 7pm-8pm. Register at Gymnastics Inc. by calling 973-252-4300. Classes will take place at 80 North Dell Avenue, Unit 17, Kenvil. Fee: $115.

Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run® is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. This running program is coming to Roxbury in mid-September for girls in 3rd-5th grade. Days will be Tuesdays and Fridays, 4:15pm-5:30pm; program is 11 weeks long.
