Roxbury Memorial Day Parade 
In honor of the men and women who gave their lives and for those still unaccounted for, the Memorial Day Parade is planned for Monday, May 25th, starting at 10am. Parade b
egins on Meeker St. and progresses to Main St., Eyland Ave., cross Rt 10, and ends at Horseshoe Lake’s Memorial Area. Your organization is invited to participate in this very special event. Please view registration form for more info, or contact Robyn Lance at  for more information.

Ribbon-Cutting and Hike on Red Trail at Veterans Park
Join Roxbury's Trails Committee on Saturday, May 30th at10am for a free guided hike. Explore the eastern side of Mooney Mountain on Red’s technical trail winding its way through woodlands and rocky terrain. Total hike is approximately 3 miles.  Great hike for adventurous families! Parking available at Mountain/Conkling trailhead in Ledgewood. Please register at www.hikeroxbury.org. More info on flyer.

Fisherman's Lane Fishing Derby
The 21st annual derby will take place on Saturday, June 6, 2015, 8am-10am, at Horseshoe Lake Island. No fee or badge required. Bring your own bait and pole. The lake will be freshly stocked the night before! Prized awarded; more info on flyer

National Trails Day Hike at Ice Age Trail-Date Change

Join the Lake Hopatcong Foundation for a guided hike on Sunday, June 7, 2015, 1pm-2:15pm. The hike will take place at Roxbury’s Ice Age Trail, which is a 1.5 mile loop. This hike offers beautiful views from the ridge line, and includes some steep areas. Parking available at 12 Orben Drive, Landing. Please visit www.lakehopatcongfoundation.org for more information.

Girls Lacrosse Skills Camp
Join Instructor Debbie Shulkowski and Roxbury High School Lacrosse players for a 4-session skills camp. This program is for girls currently in 1st-5th grade. Camp will take place starting Monday, June 8th through Thursday, June 11th, 4:30pm-5:30pm, at the Roxbury High School Turf Field. Every participant will receive a lacrosse stick and a t-shirt. Please register online or in person at Roxbury Recreation. Fee: $60. 

Roxbury Interact Club Color Fun Run
Wear a white t-shirt and walk, jog or run around Horseshoe Lake through color stations, turning your t-shirt into a rainbow of colors! Sunday, June 14, 2015; register at 9am, event begins at 10am at Horseshoe Lake Path. Open to all ages, tickets are $25 in advance; can be purchased at Roxbury Recreation starting on May 14th. Free race t-shirt to first 350 registrants. Day of event tickets available for $30. Proceeds help with medical costs for 7-yr old Joey, diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer. Stand Up to Cancer Baseball Tournament

Register to play in this great fundraising event for Sunday, June 14, 2015 event, beginning at 9am at Kiwanis and Righter Fields, Roxbury. $20 per player. Registration deadline is May 7th. Summer 2015 Programs and Activities:

BBQ Beach Blast
Save the date! Thursday, June 25th, event starts at 6pm at Horseshoe Lake Beach. A dazzling fireworks display will begin at 9:15pm. Join your friends for a night of great music and fun; food vendors will be on-site also. More info to follow.

Roxbury Town-Wide Garage Sale
Register online to be a part of the Roxbury Town-Wide Garage Sale, and have your location added to the “Map of Sales”. The directory will be available online; printed copies will be available at Town Hall and the Recreation Center the day before sale. The sale is planned for Saturday, June 27, 2015. Roxbury PBA Wiffle Ball Tournament
Register now for your team to be a part of the games. Tournament is planned for Saturday, June 27th, starting at 9am at Horseshoe Lake Baseball Field in Succasunna. Run a Booth at 14th Annual Children’s Carnival
Whether you need volunteer hours for school, extracurriculars, or just want to support a worthy cause, please volunteer to help this event by running a booth. The carnival will take place on Sunday, June 28th, 3pm-6:30pm at Horseshoe Lake in Succasunna.   Over 30 homemade carnival-style games. All money raised benefits Roxbury Social Services. Boys Lacrosse Camp
This program is for boys entering 5th through 8th grade in the fall of 2015. The goals are to offer each player the best combination of teaching and playing experience possible. Dates are July 7th through 9th, 6pm-8:30pm at the Roxbury High School Turf Field.  More info on registration form. Fee: $85; includes t-shirt.

Tri Harder Kids Triathlon
This mini-triathlon is planned for Thursday, July 16th at Horseshoe Lake Complex. Age groups are 4-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14. Must be pre-registered to participate; register online at https://register.communitypass.net/roxbury.  Sign-in starts at 5:15pm; event begins at 6pm. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Wear bathing suit and sunscreen; bring goggles, towel, socks, sneakers, bike, helmet, and hand towel to clean feet after swim. Participation medals to all, no individual awards. Times are not certified - this is a recreational event. Sponsored by Roxbury Recreation and Marty's Reliable Cycle, with support from Hillside Lutheran Brethren Church. Click on TriHarder for flyer. Everyone is a winner!! Fee: $10.

Teen Travel 2015-Openings in Sessions 2 & 4!
This exciting program is open to all Roxbury and Mount Arlington children who are currently in 6th through 9th grade.  Four sessions are offered, from July 6th through 31st, and each session is five days long. (Sessions 1 and 3 are full.) The camp hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm.  Each week is filled with fun daily adventures to places such as Branchburg Sports Complex, Turtleback Zoo TreeTop Aerial Adventure, Camelbeach Waterpark, and more!  For details on each session, view flyer by clicking Teen Travel 2015. Please register online or in person at the Recreation Office. Fee:  $225 per participant per session, t-shirt included.  Early Morning Drop-Off, 7:30am-8:30am, $35 per session. Total fee per session, $260 per child. Registration is available online as a total package.

Playground Program 2015
This fun 5-week program is offered to Roxbury and Mt. Arlington kids who are currently in K-7th grade. There are three locations to choose from: Jefferson School, Kennedy School or Nixon School. Program begins on Thursday, June 25th and goes through Friday, July 31st (no program on July 2&3). Hours are 9am-12 noon. Registration begins online beginning Monday, March 2nd at 6am. Cheerleading & PomPoms
The cheerleading program is for girls currently in 2nd-7th grade; Fee: $65. PomPoms are for girls currently in 1st grade; Fee: $50. Practices start on August 4th, and will be on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 5:30pm-8pm at Horseshoe Lake. Registration is in-person only at the Rec Office. A mandatory Parents Meeting will be held on April 27th, time TBD. Cheer Camp will be held July 27th-July 30th, 4pm-8pm at Jefferson School; Fee: $65.

Goal to Goal Soccer Training Camp
Boys and girls presently in 4th-8th grade are eligible for this camp. The ultimate purpose of this camp will be to train each player to better understand and meet the responsibilities as a team member. Technical and tactical functional training will enhance each individual's ability. Staff includes Roxbury High School Head Coach Gary Irwin, as well as RHS coaches and players. Camp is Monday, June 29th -Thursday, July 2nd, 5pm-7pm at the Roxbury High School Complex. For registration and additional information, click flyerFee:  $85; includes camp t-shirt. 

Boys Basketball Camp
Each day, campers will participate in skills stations, skill competitions, team play and lectures on basketball fundamentals and sportsmanship.  Basketball skills and fundamentals will be stressed for each age group. Staff includes Roxbury High School Boys Basketball coaches and current Roxbury High School players.  Guest speakers include local high school and college coaches. Register by attached form only; no on-line registration.
-Boys presently in K-1 grade: Camp dates are July 13-15, 9am-11am at RHS Gym. Fee: $40 per participant; includes t-shirt. For more info and registration form, click K-1 BBall.
-Boys presently in 2-4 grade: Camp dates are June 26, 29-July 1, 8:30am-12:30pm at RHS Gym.  Fee: $75 per participant, 2nd child $60; includes t-shirt.  For more info and registration form, click 2-4 BBall.
-Boys presently in 5-8 grade:  Camp dates are July 6-10, 8:30am-2:30pm at RHS Gym.  Fee:  $120 per participant, 2nd child $95; includes t-shirt. For more info and registration form, click 5-8 BBall.

Girls Basketball Camp
This camp is for girls presently in 3rd-8th grade. Dates are June 25th, 26th, 29th-July 1st, 8:30am-2:30pm at Lincoln Roosevelt School Gym.  Staff includes Kevin Bewalder, Head Girls Basketball Coach at RHS, and Jennifer Hallet, Assistant Girls Basketball Coach at RHS.  Campers must bring lunch, snacks and drinks. Registration is at the Recreation Office only or mail in the Girls Basketball Camp form to the Rec Office.  Fee: $120; second child $95, includes t-shirt.

Wrestling Camp
This camp is designed to teach the fundamentals of wrestling at a pace suitable for a young child. Interactive games and drills will be introduced to develop balance and agility necessary for wrestling. Camp runs Monday, July 20th through Thursday, July 23rd, 8:30am-11:30am, at Roxbury High School Auxiliary Gym.  Children entering 2nd-8th grade in September are eligible.  Coaches include Jim Dolan, Head Wrestling Coach at RHS, plus David Monaco, Assistant Wrestling Coach at RHS.  Register online or in-person at the Recreation Office. Jr. Gaels Fundamental Baseball Camp
Boys entering 4th through 9th grade in September are eligible for this camp. Campers will receive instruction in the following areas: hitting, infield play, outfield play, pitching, catching, form running, team concepts, and scrimmage games.
     - 4th-6th grade: June 29-July 2, 9am-1pm
     - 7th-9th grade: July 13-16 or July 27-30, 9am-1pm
Roxbury High School's Varsity Baseball Coach Greg Trotter runs the camp, along with current members of the Roxbury Assistant Coaching Staff, and former Roxbury players. For additional info and registration form, please click Baseball Camp. Fee: $125; $225 for brothers.

Field Hockey Camp
For girls presently in 4th-7th grade. Dates are Monday, July 13th through Thursday, July 16th, 5pm-7pm at Roxbury High School Turf Field. This camp serves as an introduction to the game, basic skills, rules, positions, and game play. Campers will enjoy individual and team skill stations and will experience exposure to game-like settings. Open to Roxbury and non-Roxbury residents. Pony Camps-July
Two camps are offered in July! Each are four days, beginning Monday, July 20th through Thursday, July 23rd at Horseshoe Lake.
  • For ages 3-6, a Petite Equestrian Program is open 1pm-2:30pm. Fee: $190. 
  • For ages 7-13, a Pony Grooming & Riding Program is open 2:45pm-4:45pm. Fee: $230.

Lego Camp
Lego-inspired engineering classes for kids in K-6th grade. Camp week is August 17-21 at the Horseshoe Lake Recreation Teen Center. Pre-Engineering Camp is for K-2nd grade, 9am-12pm. FUNdamentals of Engineering Camp is for 3rd-6th grade, 1pm-4pm. Fee: $145; register at www.play-well.org. More info on flyer.

Roxbury 5K Race
Register now for Monday, June 1st's race through Succasunna. Race day registration begins at 5pm at Eisenhower Middle School; race starts 7pm. Hosted by a non-profit organization and net proceeds to go Roxbury HS Project Graduation, Roxbury Fire Dept., First Aid Squad, Roxbury Social Services, Roxbury DayCare Center, and Kiwanis Scholarship Fund. Tennis Camp
Coach Miller is offering his 2nd annual summer camp during the month of July in weekly sessions. Camps range in ages from 5-8 and 9-11, plus Middle and High School Camps. Please visit www.roxbury.org/tennis for more info and to register.

Tennis Lessons
Lessons are offered for kids, beginners and advanced students, ages 8-16. Lessons begin on June 23rd and are offered one week only; register now! Please visit www.roxbury.org/tennisharlan for more information and schedule.

Pony Camp-August
A half-day pony camp is offered for children age 9 and up. Daily riding time includes a riding lesson, lunging session, Equisthenics lesson, a harness driving session or a mini trail ride. Other non-riding activities are also included. Dates are Monday, August 3rd through Thursday, August 6th, 1pm-4:30pm, at Horseshoe Lake. More info on registration form. Fee: $290.

Day Camp 2015-All Sessions are now full
This fun program is open to all Roxbury and Mount Arlington children who are currently in 1st through 6th grade.  Day Camp is held at the Roxbury Recreation Center at Horseshoe Lake from June 25th through August 14th (no camp on July2&3), and each session is five days long. Camp Capra 2015-All Sessions are now full
This fun and enthusiastic camp is open to Roxbury and Mt. Arlington children currently in K-7th grade. Choose from six sessions; each session is one week long. Sessions begin on July 6th, and run through August 14th. Enjoy games, arts & crafts, field trips and water games with Mr. Capra, a 6th grade Roxbury teacher. Location: Lincoln-Roosevelt School Gym. Fall 2015 Programs and Activities:

NFL Instructional Flag Football Clinic
This program is for children ages 5 through 1st grade as of December 1st, 2015. It includes learning the fundamentals of flag football. No experience necessary. The program will be held Monday and Wednesday evenings beginning August 24th at the Horseshoe Lake Fields, 6pm-7:15pm. Coaches needed too! Please register online or in-person at Roxbury Recreation. Fee: $50, includes NFL Jersey.

Jr. Gaels Football 
Football practice will begin on August 3rd, and will be held Mondays-Thursdays throughout August. Games will begin in September, and run through early November. For programs, please see below for eligibility as of the September 2015 school year:
      Pre-Clinic -             boys entering 3rd grade (must be age 8 by Oct. 1st)
      Clinic -                   boys entering 4th grade
      Super Pee Wee -    boys entering 5th grade
      Pee Wee -             boys entering 6th grade
