SUMMER 2016 PROGRAMS & ACTIVITIES:

  

Scary Movie Night at Horseshoe Lake 

Don’t miss this free, fun event! Watch 'Jaws' on the beach at Horseshoe Lake on Friday, August 5th, 2016. Gate opens at 7:45pm, and the movie will start at approximately 8:30pm. Donations welcome for the Simon Fund, which benefits the “Celebrate the Children School.” Bring your chair and blanket, and the concession stand will be open for snacks. TriHarder Kids Triathlon

 


The rescheduled date is Thursday, August 25th, 2016. This mini-triathlon is for kids ages 4-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14. Must be pre-registered to participate; register through your Community Pass account. Sign-in starts at 5:15pm; event begins at 6pm. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Participation medals to all, no individual awards. Times are not certified - this is a recreational event. More info on flyer. Everyone is a winner!! Fee: $10.

Swim Lesson Sign-Ups

 
Classes are going on now for children ages 3 and up, and range from one week to three weeks.  Swim water testing will be held between current classes. Minecraft Engineering with LEGO Camps


Bring Minecraft to life with LEGO! Resourcefulness, creativity, and cooperation come together in this unique building adventure game. Roll the dice to mine for resources, craft tools, and watch out for Creepers. Two camps offered for August 15-19th at Horseshoe Lake's Teen Center. Minecraft Build Adventure Game is for ages 5-7; 9am-12pm. Minecraft build Survival Game is for ages 7-12; 1pm-4pm. More info on flyer. Register at www.play-well.org. Fee: $145. 



FALL 2016 PROGRAMS & ACTIVITIES:


Cross Country


Join the program to 'Go The Distance' and have fun while running. Must be 7 years old by December 31, 2016, or have been on the XC team last year.  Birth year must be 2009 or earlier.  First practice is Monday, August 29th, 6pm, at the Horseshoe Lake Pavilion. Program runs through mid-November. More info on flyer. Please register online or in-person at Roxbury Recreation. Fee: $90; includes t-shirt. 

Jr. Gaels Football


Program is for boys entering 3rd-8th grade in September. Practice will start on August 1st, and held Mondays through Thursdays throughout August. Games will begin in September and run through early November. Register online or in-person at Rec Office. More on flyer and at www.roxburyjrgaelsfootball.net. Fee: $125, $300 family max; uniform included. 

Flag Football


This program is for children age 5-8 as of December 1, 2016. It includes learning the fundamentals of flag football, no experience necessary. The program will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings beginning August 22nd at the Horseshoe Lake fields, 6pm-7:15pm. Coaches needed too! Please register online or in-person at Rec Office. Fee: $50; includes NFL Jersey.

Fall Soccer


Registration is now open for travel, in-town, Mighty Mites and Mini Mites for boys and girls in Pre-K through 8th grade. The travel and in-town programs are for children in 1st-8st grades. Fee for both program is $85. Online registration will close for travel and in-town on July 23rd; players registering after this date will be charged a $25 late fee. The Mighty Mites program is for Kindergartners; fee is $40. Mini Mites are for Pre-K; Fee is $30. Registration for the Mites programs will close on September 10th.
