Girls Winter Softball Clinic

This clinic is for girls in 1st-6th grades, and includes four weeks of fundamental instruction, drills, practice, games and FUN! Held on Sundays, 3pm-5m. Grades 1-3 starts January 15th; grades 4-6 starts February 19th. Register online or in-person at Roxbury Recreation. More info on flyerFee: $40; includes t-shirt. 

Fun, Fitness & Friendship

This fun and enthusiastic class will be offered to kids grades K-3 on Tuesdays, 4:30-5:30pm. Dates are January 24, 31; February 7, 21, 28; and March 7th, and the instructor is Bob Capra, a teacher at Lincoln Roosevelt School.  The class will be held at the Horseshoe Lake Gym, located in the Rec Center. We will incorporate safe games, fair play, and sportsmanship to all our games.  The non-stop action includes:  pilo polo, guard the pin, popcorn dodgeball, soccer, kickball, tag games and much more.  You can bring a drink with you to each session. Please make checks payable for $60 per child to Roxbury Clinics and mail to: Roxbury Recreation,72 Eyland Avenue, Succasunna, NJ 07876.

Martin Luther King Day Boys Basketball Clinic

Join Coach Joe Ansaldi and members of the 2016-17 Roxbury High School Boys Basketball team for an afternoon of fun, exercise, drills and games for boys in 1st through 8th grade. Annual Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship

For boys and girls age 9-14 as of January 1st, 2017.  The date of competition is Saturday, January 21st  at St. Therese School Gym. For ages 9-11, time is 12pm-1:30pm; for ages 12-14, time is 2pm-3:30pm. Pre-register by emailing More info on flyer.

Girls Winter Lacrosse Clinic

Clinic is for players registered on Spring Travel Teams. Get in shape for the spring season and work on basic skills through drills and game play.  Open to girls in grades 3-8.  Girls will get to know teammates and will work with trained, experienced coaches in the Roxbury Girls Lacrosse Program. Six week program on Saturdays, 2pm-3pm, February 4, 11, 18, 25, March 4, 11. Location: Kozak Indoor Soccer, 6 Middlebury Blvd, Randolph. Please register online through Community Pass or in-person at Roxbury Recreation.  For further information, please contact Debbie Shulkowski at 862-251-4233 or Fee: $50.

Street Hockey

This program is for boys and girls in 1st through 6th grade.  Practice and game schedules are as follows:
  • 1st/2nd grade teams: Saturday afternoons/some Thursdays at Horseshoe Lake Gym 
  • 3rd/4th grade teams: Sunday mid-day/some Thursdays at Lincoln-Roosevelt Gym  
  • 5th/6th grade teams: Sunday evenings/some Tuesdays at EMS Gym

Season begins end of January, and runs through March (will not conflict with basketball). Equipment needed is a helmet, hockey gloves, shin guards and hockey stick. Coaches needed too! Registration begins November 3rd, online or in-person at Roxbury Recreation. Fee: $70; includes t-shirt.

Children's Bowling League

Join the fun while the weather gets chilly! Bumper Bowling for kids in K-3rd grade; Regular Bowling for kids in 4th-8th grade. Dates are Wednesdays through March 22nd, 4pm-5:15pm at Circle Bowl, 1113 Route 46 East, Ledgewood. Join any time! Registration fee: $10, includes t-shirt. Cost is $6 per week, which includes two games and shoe rental. Register in-person only at Roxbury Rec. More info on flyer.


Girls Lacrosse

Join the "fastest sport on two feet"! Teams will be formed with the following grade levels: 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8. Practices are 2-3 times per week at Roxbury High School's Bryant Field (usually Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) with games once per week. Season runs April 1st through mid-June. Assistant coaches also needed to assist certified head coaches. Please register online or in-person at Rec Office by December 16th. Boys Lacrosse

Boys Jr. Gaels Lacrosse is a travel program belonging to the North Jersey Junior Lacrosse League. This program is for boys in 2nd-8th grade. Program begins in March, and runs through June. Please provide your own helmet.Current players can register online or in-person beginning on Tuesday, November 1st, 2016. Roxbury Soccer

Registration for the 2017 spring season is now open online for boys and girls in Pre-K through 8th grade. In-town teams, grades 1-8, and travel teams are $85, and registration closes on February 1, 2017; more info on flyer. Mighty Mites is for boys and girls in Kindergarten, with a fee of $40; more info on flyer. Mini Mites is for 4 yr-olds learning soccer; fee is $30; more info on flyer. Registration for Mighty Mites and Mini Mites closes on April 8, 2017. Register at

Roxbury Baseball

Registration is now open for ages 4-16. Register at Registration closes on January 31st. The season starts in early April, and runs through mid-June. Games/practices will be 1-2 nights per week, and Saturdays. For more info, please view flyer or email

Spring Track Clinic - 1st/2nd Grade

This program is designed to introduce children to the track program.  No experience is necessary, just a willingness to run, jump or throw. Location:  Roxbury High School Track. Season starts mid-March; practice will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with meets on Fridays. Coaches needed too! Register online or in-person at Roxbury Recreation for clinic and coaching. Children must be born in 2009 or later for this program.  Fee:  $45; includes t-shirt.

Spring Track - Bantam, Midget & Youth

This program is for children currently in 2nd through 8th grade, born in 2008 or earlier.  It's designed for children who enjoy running track, whether at a recreational or competitive level.  No experience is necessary; just a willingness to run, jump or throw.  Season starts mid-March; practice will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with most meets on Sunday afternoons. Meets are either at the Roxbury High School Track or away at another school’s track.  Coaches needed too!
